Our Story

Our story begins in the 1990s, in the rolling foothills of Korumburra, Victoria. 

A small team of passionate makers at Burra Foods set out to craft yoghurt and cream with real care. Before long, Gippsland Dairy was bringing a little more joy to fridges across Australia – with deliciously creamy yoghurt, fruit-on-top creations and extra-thick Dollop cream made to be savoured. 

As word spread, Gippsland Dairy grew too. By 2000, the brand had found a new home in Dandenong South, the gateway to Gippsland. 

In 2005, we introduced something new that would become one of our most loved creations: Twist yoghurt. Smooth, creamy and swirled with delicious fruit flavours, it brought a little delight to every spoonful.

In 2011, Chobani Founder and Global CEO Hamdi Ulukaya acquired Bead Foods, makers of Gippsland Dairy. He recognised the craft and care and indulgence behind every pot – and helped Gippsland Dairy continue to grow while staying true to its roots. 

Today, Gippsland Dairy remains known for authentic craft, award-winning indulgent taste and that little something special that keeps people coming back for more.
